I often get asked how I look after myself when life is challenging. If I feel untethered, I stick more closely to a regular routine.
It’s very simple.
I go to bed at 10 pm and get up at 7am.
Start the day with a breathing practice.
Get outside as soon as `I wake up. I often do a little mobility in my garden, before my daily formal practice ( anything from reformer Pilates, weights, power plates, somatic movement, walking, trampolining and roller skating).
Eat regular meals, five hours apart. I’m better on a late brunch and an early supper, protein and vegetables keeps me on an even keel. I also try not to drink alcohol, it makes me feel even more wretched, so I swerve it.
I get even more stricter with the time I spend on all media, and I make sure I take the dogs out for a walk in the afternoon. They always raise my spirits.
What’s going on
I’ve just sold the US rights to my book, it will be published there next Autumn.
The London Soothe Day Retreat on Saturday 27th January - there are two places left. More info here.
The May Soothe Retreat - I have one room left, come away with me for a deeply nurturing weekend. More details here.
I am so looking forward to spending time teaching peaceful people at the next day retreat in December. I’m at my best when I’m teaching, thank you for being part of this community.
I’ve dropped a lesson for paid subscribers to get embodied, it’s been a life saver for me.
Stay human,
