I’m an author and somatic movement educator, known as “the nervous system whisperer.” I specialise in helping those who are burnt out, anxious, or chronically stressed, cultivating resilience to both emotional and physical health.

If you have tried everything and nothing has stuck, join me for a live chat and Q&A on Monday, January 6th, at 7 PM, where I’ll also guide you through a soothing lesson.

Drop me a “YES,” and I’ll send you the link to join.

Once a month, to give you a break from my thoughts, and to hear from hopeful people, I invite a guest in to tell us what they would do, “If I were in charge.”

This month, please meet Vanessa Jaich - I attended her brilliant fermenting workshop and now my kitchen is full of jars of kimchi, beetroot sauerkraut, fire cider and red cabbage sauerkraut all fermenting away, as well as jars of carrot and cumin and turnip pickles. My house smells of vinegar and cabbage! I love making and eating them - it is so easy once someone shows you.

Who are you?

I’m Vanessa, a Naturopathic Nutritionist and natural chef passionate about transforming my clients’ health through the power of food as medicine. Food is so much more than fuel, it’s a source of nourishment, a connection to joy, and a reflection of our relationship with ourselves. I love inspiring my clients to rediscover these aspects of themselves through the one-to-one programmes and consultations I offer in my online clinic.

What is your mission?

My mission is to help people feel empowered with the knowledge to nourish themselves and live a life where they feel truly alive and thriving.

How do you do it?

I guide my clients on transformative health journeys, helping them address imbalances and reconnect with their bodies. A key part of my approach is inspiring clients to rediscover the joy of food and witness how it transforms their energy, vitality, and clarity across all aspects of their lives. I specialise in hormones and gut health, focusing on how these interconnected systems profoundly influence our well-being, when treating the whole person by addressing the root causes of health challenges rather than simply managing symptoms.

How do you look after yourself?

I have a dedicated meditation, breath work and yoga practice that helps me stay balanced. I also love cooking and creating delicious, nourishing meals, it’s my way of caring for myself and finding joy in daily life.

If you were in charge, what are the first three things that you would do?

1. Transform the food industry by reducing unnecessary additives and harmful substances, ensuring food production prioritises health and well-being.

2. Revamp food labelling to educate and empower people about the benefits of whole, unprocessed foods, while highlighting the profound changes they can experience by removing refined sugars and ultra-processed foods.

3. Establish comprehensive nutrition programmes in schools to educate children early on about the importance of whole foods and balanced eating, setting the foundation for a lifetime of health. This would include providing access to delicious meals in all schools, ensuring that every child experiences the benefits of good food from an early age.

Please recommend a book, a podcast and a film or TV programme.

I’m more of a podcast gal than TV or film:

Podcast (Nutrition): The Doctor’s Farmacy by Dr. Mark Hyman
Podcast (Spirituality): Know Thyself
Recipe Book: The Art of Eating Well by Hemsley + Hemsley

Is there anything else we should know about you?

I’m working on my Inner Rewilding programme and launching a Substack with the hope of turning my process into a book one day. Inner Rewilding is a transformative journey designed to help you reconnect with your inner harmony. Just as regenerative farming restores soil health and cultivates balance in ecosystems, this programme works to reset your internal terrain—supporting your microbiome, hormonal balance, and emotional well-being.

The programme includes:
• One-to-One personalised sessions that follow the phases of Weed, Seed, Feed, and Maintain.
• Educational sessions and practical tools like recipes to empower you to nourish your body.
• Guidance on making your own ferments and preparing nourishing, delicious meals that bring joy, energy, and mental clarity.
